who said xeriscape was boring?

St. George, Utah- ‘local yard wonder of the world’ begged to be photographed and pondered. I only wish I had the guts to go knocking and get the scoop. So, enough with desert xeriscape design that over-use boulders and fallen, weathered cedar trees that have been struck by lightening… bring on the sculpture!

Yes, that’s the large profile of an Indian on the side of the house.

Road trip- St George Utah. We went to run a half marathon, by far the greatest distance I’ve ever run in one shot. But my base fitness carried me through (run 5 miles twice a week, throw in some yoga and skiing too), I wouldn’t call it delightful- only pretty fun with a sprinkle of painful exhaustion. The race was rainy and cold but there is nothing like the smell of damp winter desert to keep your mind off the discomfort. I missed finally seeing it snow at my house but the race was a huge accomplishment and now checked off the old bucket list.

Good for you on the half marathon thing. I aspire to ride in a bike race someday. I’ll probably come in last…..but I’m cool with that.
