What to do in Utah, shop Beehive Bazaar Handmade Art and Craft

Anyone who lives in Utah knows that the Beehive Bazaar is the not-to-be-missed, premiere handmade event in the state. It should be on everyone’s list of what to do in Utah …this weekend in particular.
Taking place at The Shops at Riverwoods in Provo and held every May and December for the past 11 years, the Beehive Bazaar is a well curated group of the most talented artists and crafters in Utah. They are brought together to offer up amazingly unique products, and bonus- incredibly affordable prices too. Come, get all your Christmas shopping done and be amazed at all the sparkly and fantastically talent on the forefront of the handmade scene in Utah.
Here’s a sneak peak into the space and skills of Rachel Harmon-Schutz of Darlybird, one of the vendors this holiday season.

Happy 4th of July

It’s party week here in the USA with 4th of July fun and games ramping up. Mostly, everyone in my neck of the woods (Utah) is trying to keep cool as the temperatures soar above 100 degrees. It’s dry heat, so its not that bad- as long as you can occasionally submerge yourself in a body of water to cool off and chill out.

We’ll be heading south for some family holiday fun- in the mountains, by a lake, sleeping in a tent… what’s more American than that? So, have a wonderful holiday- whatever you do- and enjoy this Treasury of darling patriotic items I’ve gathered up on Etsy.  I couldn’t get it to post here with all the shop links so click on the link below to do any further research on wares.

easy Easter sewing crafts

Here are a few last minute projects my crafty 13 year old daughter has her sights set on. With Easter just 2 days away, easy and quick is the name of the game.
She can taunt her Peep lovin’ brothers (and me) and leave their mouths watering with these inedible imitations. I somehow want to add sparkles to these guys, maybe a little glue and appropriately colored glitter would do the job? Here they are- our favorite easy Easter sewing crafts:

Peeps plushies:

Sewn Carrots:

M has already dug into my fabric scraps and managed to sew up a few of these carrots this week using this tutorial from Claire’s Craft Room. She even found some of the exact same orange polka dot fabric in my extensive collection of scraps.

AND… I really want to make a Peep garland, seriously, with my obsessions with garlands (one on every window) and Peeps (even though they aren’t chocolate) why haven’t I made one already?
