Time to sew- vintage Butterick sewing patterns

vintage Butterick sewing patterns
This week I am getting to work using these vintage Butterick sewing patterns from my collection for some skirts for the art show at Gallery One Ten that Steve O and I are doing in April. I have good ideas in my head if I can just make them come true, in real life.

I will have to make some serious sizing adjustments, body sizes and shapes these days are very different than they were 50 years ago. I think part of what draw me to these vintage Butterick sewing patterns is the drawings on the front. The idealized ‘she would have to be wearing a corset’ look is so visually appealing and so completely unrealistic. I admit to all of these thoughts and feelings, ashamedly.

For more vintage patterns- Halloween and such- look here.
