dog days of winter

dog days of winter
Ahhh, the dog days of winter… the week after Christmas is so relaxing with the schedule set to FUN. We spent a peaceful week playing with Christmas toys (heavy on building Legos), my personal favorite- napping, watching movies and playing games. For some reason hanging around in pajamas during this week doesn’t bother me like it generally make me anxious other times of the year. And of course, the icing on the cake, when you live in Utah is BIG SNOW FUN right outside your doorstep. We’ve gotten some skiing, snowboarding and sledding in already, hopefully some more snow will fall here soon and fresh powder will increase the outdoor fun and excitement factor exponentially. The dog days of winter are truly the best gift.

So… have a good time but beware of scary snow crevasses, and places where cats and dogs wear parkas but baby polar bears do not. These pictures are from the book Caroline på Nordpolen one in a series by Pierre Probst, published in 1971 by Lademann Forlagsaktieselskab, København, the text is in Danish. We picked it up at a rummage sale when we were in Denmark this past summer, due to the outstanding illustrations. I don’t read or speak Danish so we have to make up the story as we go, which is more fun anyway.
