Thrifted Vintage Skiwear
Thrifted vintage skiwear is where it’s at in affordability and street cred within the local scene. Where we live, November is the time of year to start thinking about snow. And the activities you’re going to do when it starts piling up all around you. Most importantly, what you are going to wear to look your best in the wintery months. For those on a budget, into retro or a thrift fiend- get in line for the thrift event of the year- the St. Lawrence Thrift store ski swap.
All manner of winter goods can be found- from slightly last season to did Sir Edmund Hillary wear those when summiting Everest? Or are those real astronaut boots? (By the way, we came home with those handsome moon boots, apparently they are very comfortable as well as stylish).
Onsies-
And then… we just couldn’t help ourselves, the dress up options were just too good to be true. Suddenly I found myself playing fashion photographer and egging these ladies on.
Sweaters-
Helmets can be a fashion accessory and really accentuate a ski ensemble.
Epic wool sweaters, with a bit of fur for texture, from the risky pre-helmet, the longer-the-ski-the-better years of the 1980’s.
Day glo is back. You may have mixed feeling about this fact as many of us who remember it from the first time around do. So feel free to own it, if you like, brand new or in retro style.
Excellent sweater picks, the cats are woven in with some sort of angora, fancy, fluffy wool making this sweater all the more special.
The cats came home with us too- I mean seriously, how could you not? They’ll be purrfect for so many special occasions. Thrifted vintage skiwear is where it’s at- keep up the good work thrifters!
