about me
I have always been drawn to details and design. My first memories of life are of what I or those around me were wearing. And now- all these years later- thinking creatively, surrounded by color and texture is where I love to be. My instincts have always drawn me to think outside the box, away from conventional or ultra trendy designs and come up with fresh ideas, combine objects, patterns and colors that don’t classically mesh. My growing collection of vintage clothing patterns has given me the challenge and thrill of working with and adapting designs for a modern day flattery and functionability. When I’m not playing with fabric- designing and making clothing, I love woodworking, gardening, quilting, interior design, graphic design & illustration, knitting (on a very elementary level), reading, cycling, skiing and yoga. I am co-owner and creator of the Beehive Bazaar, a handmade art and craft fair, now in it’s 13th year, that takes place in Provo Utah three times a year. I’ve enjoyed being a ski instructor for about 28 years at Sundance and Park City Mountain Resort.
I love being the mother of 4 fabulous children at various stages of life. I’m married to Steve Olpin, an crazy-talented documentary filmmaker (thetalkingfly on YouTube) with a wacky sense of humor, skillful artist’s flare and love for life. Together we all live in the beautiful mountains of Utah where we love adventure- namely skiing, hiking, biking, kayaking, backpacking, swimming, playing Make-a-Million, making cookies and traveling.
