Cowboy Boot Quilt

It just keeps coming back to cowboys. I made this cowboy boot quilt awhile back, for my mom’s B & B, Slot Canyons Inn, in Escalante Utah- the heart of cowboy country. Since then, I continually get asked for the pattern. So, here it is folks. As you can see I prefer the bold colors and patterns. But if you decide to make your own, then feel free to color it up any way you like, pardner. Here’s the block piecing part of the pattern. You can see the joining-of-the-blocks steps here.
And, I’m making another one of these boot quilts- shrinking the pattern a bit too because what’s better than tiny cowboy boots?

Prewash fabrics. Damp dry and press. Prepare templates by printing the above and below patterns so the bottom of the P & PR and the middle of the N piece measures 7″. Cut patches as listed in the box (directions) above. All border strips and the long sash include 2″ extra length for insurance plus 1/4″ seam allowances. The short sashes are the exact length required.
