Handmade Small Messenger Bags
Here are a few handmade small messenger bags- I managed to make. The extent of my handmade accomplishments over the summer. To see what I’ve been doing besides sewing, follow along on Instagram @noelleolpin or @noelleodesigns for the making side of life.
In my opinion, Instagram is the only social media really worth paying attention to. For those of us who are easily distracted and prefer quick and easy visual stimulation- it’s all that.
It’s all in the details-
Upcycled doiley as a detail on the above purse. Put in heirloom items, that would otherwise be shelved. Because it’s a great way to honor your elders and look cool.
Fast stitched (aka sewing machine) stitched vintage fabric flowers. Because vintage details deserved to be showcased on the front of this purse.
The fabrics used on the outside of bags are meant for upholstery. But I love to find and use on a smaller scale. Bags last so much longer with a heavier weight material on the outside. Details in all aspects are easy to add on the front flap or elsewhere on the bag.
Mixing textures and colors- just for fun.
Vintage trim on turquoise vinyl, because why not?
