art, life

temple of the birds

At least that’s the only name I can find for it. Graffiti makers haven, it’s about a mile east of Saltair on the frontage road, west of Salt Lake City, off I-80. Good for wandering, pondering, playing with trash and taking wedding pictures. You can see the shores of the Great Salt Lake and the west mountains in the background.

Who knows when- this train car ended up here or went it up in flames.

Playing with empty spray paint cans and bottles… a childhood dream come true.

Years and years of piled on graffiti.

Swinging from the rafters.

Brotherly love, the word on his lips, “chubby”.

Late afternoon, one of the best times to snap pictures of the desolate, the messy, and the beautiful.

This is what going through iPhoto does, makes me find photos and events I’d set aside for later. We stopped at Temple of the Birds in late September on the way home from a soccer game in Stansbury Park, took some pictures and then forgot all about it. That’s life for you.
Broken arm saga… taking longer than I thought to compile, I’m working on it, standby.
