Funny kid notes are the best, and this one speaks for itself. It is possibly my favorite note I’ve ever read (secretly, of course) from my wonderful children. Q reminds me in writing to take a chill pill, calm down, not freak out, regroup, take a timeout, read some parenting literature, and try every day to be the best mom I can be.

Tooth Fairy Note

At our house, when it comes to the tooth fairy, we generally include some bit of correspondence. The Tooth Fairy’s Secrets: Most of the time, the kids ask for personal information like: What is your name? Are you married? Or how tall are you?

The Tooth Fairy’s Dilemma: This time, F believed the rumor that a friend’s friend received an RC car from the tooth fairy. Consequently, I told him, “That’s an urban legend, son.” However, he did receive three dollars because, surprisingly, the darn tooth fairy took three nights to pay up. Sheesh! I mean, what does a kid have to do to get some good service around here?

Dealing with a Crush

M proudly announces her crush to the world, happily shouting it out loud. Moreover, yesterday, her backpack revealed her new muse, Clay. Consequently, she eagerly works on getting his number. It’s important to keep in mind, however, that she was only 6 years old when she wrote this.

This is a self portrait of M (at age 6). She doesn’t have bangs, but as you can see- she really wants them really bad.

Valentines Day Note

This note was sent thru the school valentine postal system from M (1st grade) to her big brother F in 3rd grade. I’m sure he and all of his friends really appreciated it. M is one funny kid.

A Heartfelt Reminder of Love

Parenting presents good days and not-so-good ones, as we all know. Last night, my daughter M (6 years old) brightened my entire day by leaving me a note under my pillow. She worked very hard on this Valentine, creating a bracelet, drawing, writing, and packaging everything together. Her dad helped a little by tying things together. This effort inspires me to do my best for my kids. I want to meet their expectations, especially on tough days. I’ve often wondered who put me in charge and what qualifies me to be a parent. Notes like this make it all worthwhile. I guess I succeed in some respects, so thank you, M, for the vote of confidence that every mother needs now and then.

This note is spelled phonetically, it reads: Dear Mom, you are the best mom ever. You deserve an award, and this award represents your happiness.
