skirts on the line
Just a bunch of 3 tier skirts on the line I’ve been making. Check out the tutorial if you’d like to make one for yourself. They’re very easy to make with even just a bit of sewing experience.
Also, thank you Cass Barney for painting our fence, we truly love it, and may just have to never move because of it. it’s a fabulous backdrop for skirts, or maybe too distracting, but-oh well…whatever.
I’ve been making all of these skirts for the Beehive Bazaar, coming up here in 2 weeks, Mother’s Day weekend. It’s a local, handmade art and craft fair in Provo Utah.
This Ode to Citrus skirt is from the Nothing To Say Art Show that my husband Steve O and I collaborated on at Gallery One Ten at the beginning of April.
I’m a big fan of all citrus fruits- especially grapefruit, but definitely all citrus. They have a beautiful symmetry to them and deserve all the artsy recognition out there. Skirts on the line, the best way to admire.
This skirt was very fun to design and make. The silver fabric used for the body of the skirt is a denim weight stretchy fabric that looks and feels great. The fruit is made with wool felt, cotton fabrics and a bit of tulle here and there. The pink frilly underskirt is a separate garment entirely. It can be worn with the skirt or left out entirely.
